The Vikendi map feels big. Really big. I assumed that the smaller 6x6 expanse will make for a gameplay experience similar to Sanhok. But once you jump into the white wonderland, it becomes evident you have to cover a lot of ground in the Classic matches. The map has been modelled after European snowy regions and the developers have made sure that create a perfect balance of most topological features you find in the real-world Europe. The snow deserts give an impression of travelling even more, with lesser hideouts thrown in between.
In Vikendi, players are given vehicles to move around the map and explore the regions. Like every other map, Vikendi gets its exclusives and the only vehicle limited to this one are the snowmobiles. There are two variants of snowmobiles found around Vikendi - a single seater and a double seater variant. Both of them steal glances and are extremely fun to drive around. The snowmobile makes it easy to go around the snow-covered fields as well as the ice lake. However, in regions where the snow cover is sparse, it struggles with handling massively.
For those who have wanted to fight it out on large maps, Erangel has been the only choice to go until Vikendi landed. The new map measures 6x6 on the scale, which is considerably shorter than the 8x8 Erangel. However, it's a tad bigger than the 4x4 Sanhok. With a large base, I was eager to see how the map developers used every inch of Vikendi to make for exciting gameplay scenarios. And boy have they excelled at it lavishly.

The weather system makes a comeback with the Sanhok, and one could see themselves either in the rain, sunny or foggy conditions, which all add a new dimension to the Battle Royale action. Also, the vehicular dynamics are significantly altered in this game, which features a higher-number of two-wheelers over four-wheelers, and this strategy is in line with the idea of a smaller map.
Another negative aspect is that the snowmobile makes a lot of noise and that can be lethal. I have been shot at several times for travelling on the snowmobile and eventually led me to consider the other ones.
Interestingly, Sanhok is only 4km x 4km, which makes it a whole lot smaller than Erangel and Miramar, meaning the one should be ready to experience a faster-paced action while on the ground. As the map is smaller, the company has adjusted the spawn rates for weapons and ammo to facilitate faster action, which is hugely beneficial for players who thrive on a fast-paced shooter.
